How To Make Adjustable Table Feet

Adjustable table feet are a great way to level your table on uneven surfaces, or to change the height of your table to suit your needs. They are relatively easy to make, and you can customize them to match the style of your table.

To make adjustable table feet, you will need the following materials:

4 pieces of 1" x 4" lumber, each 12" long
4 pieces of 3/4" plywood, each 4" x 4"
16 1/2" bolts
16 washers
16 nuts
Wood glue
Sandpaper
Drill
Countersink bit
Wrench

Instructions:

Cut the 1" x 4" lumber into four 12" pieces. These will be the legs of the table.
Cut the 3/4" plywood into four 4" x 4" pieces. These will be the feet of the table.
Drill four 1/2" holes in each leg, 2" from the top and 2" from the bottom. The holes should be spaced evenly around the leg.
Drill four 1/4" holes in each foot, 1" from the edge. The holes should be spaced evenly around the foot.
countersink the 1/2" holes in the legs using a countersink bit.
Apply wood glue to the top of each foot and attach it to the bottom of a leg. Make sure that the holes in the foot line up with the holes in the leg.
Insert a bolt through each hole and secure it with a washer and nut. Tighten the nuts until the foot is securely attached to the leg.
Repeat steps 6 and 7 for the remaining three legs.
Sand the legs and feet until they are smooth.
Attach the adjustable table feet to your table using the bolts, washers, and nuts that came with the table.

Your adjustable table feet are now complete! You can now level your table on uneven surfaces, or change the height of your table to suit your needs.

You can use any type of wood to make adjustable table feet. However, hardwoods such as oak and maple are more durable than softwoods such as pine and fir.
