A garden coffee table is a great way to add some extra seating and style to your outdoor space. It's also a relatively easy project to build, even if you're a beginner. Here's a step-by-step guide on how to make a small garden coffee table:
Materials:
- Four 2x4s, cut to 18 inches long
- Four 2x4s, cut to 12 inches long
- One 1x6, cut to 36 inches long
- One 1x6, cut to 18 inches long
- Four 3-inch wood screws
- Eight 1-inch wood screws
- Wood glue
- Sandpaper
- Stain or paint (optional)
Instructions:
1. Assemble the base of the table by attaching the four 2x4s that are 18 inches long to the four 2x4s that are 12 inches long. Use wood glue and 3-inch wood screws to secure the joints. 2. Attach the top of the table by placing the 1x6 that is 36 inches long on top of the base. Use wood glue and 1-inch wood screws to secure it in place. 3. Attach the lower shelf by placing the 1x6 that is 18 inches long on the inside of the base, 6 inches from the bottom. Use wood glue and 1-inch wood screws to secure it in place. 4. Sand the table smooth and apply stain or paint if desired. 5. Enjoy your new garden coffee table!
Tips:
- If you want to make a larger coffee table, simply increase the length of the 2x4s and 1x6s accordingly.
- You can also customize the look of your coffee table by using different types of wood or stain.
- To protect your coffee table from the elements, apply a sealant to it after staining or painting.
