How to Make an Upholstered Ottoman Coffee Table

An upholstered ottoman coffee table is a versatile piece of furniture that can add style and comfort to any living room. Materials:

1/2-inch plywood
1x4 lumber
2x4 lumber
3/4-inch foam
Upholstery fabric
Staple gun and staples
Screws
Drill
Saw
Hammer
Measuring tape
Pencil

Instructions:

Step 1: Build the frame

Cut four pieces of 1x4 lumber to the desired length of the ottoman. Assemble the frame using screws, making sure to square the corners.

Step 2: Attach the plywood top

Cut a piece of 1/2-inch plywood to the size of the ottoman frame. Attach the plywood to the frame using screws.

Step 3: Add the foam

Cut a piece of 3/4-inch foam to the size of the ottoman top. Place the foam on top of the plywood.

Step 4: Upholster the ottoman

Cut a piece of upholstery fabric to the size of the ottoman, plus 6 inches on all sides for wrapping. Place the fabric over the foam and staple it to the bottom of the plywood. Trim any excess fabric.

Step 5: Add the legs

Cut four pieces of 2x4 lumber to the desired height of the ottoman. Attach the legs to the corners of the ottoman frame using screws.

Step 6: Enjoy your new ottoman!

Your upholstered ottoman coffee table is now complete! Enjoy using it as a footrest, storage space, or even a makeshift bed.
